Office Furniture, searching for ergonomics at work

03.04.2018 | Offices

Ergonomics is one main aspect to be taken into account when time comes to choose office furniture. Most of us would like  to have a design furniture  that fits into the workspace, however having office tables and chairs with an amazing design will be nothing without ergonomics.

IAE (International Ergonomics Association) defines this concept as ‘the scientific discipline concerned with the understanding of interactions among humans and other elements of a system, and the profession that applies theory, principles, data and methods to design in order to optimize human well-being and overall system performance. By counting on ergonomic furniture at workplaces, bad positions and its consequences on health and productivity, will be avoided.

Ergonomic chairs for offices

Look for a chair with lumbar support, seat depth and height adjustment. Armrests also help to ensure a proper posture and performance. Should it be withf castors, the 5-lean positions is recommended.

At Sellex, we keep and meet with these requirements to have ergonomics chairs at work.

SWING Chairs series, designed by Burkhard Vogtherr y Markus Dörner, is the best option to equip workspaces, both in Executive places and other workstations in an office. This program is provided with the necessary mechanisms as self-retun, turning or height adjustment lift.

TAYLOR Chair, design Lievore Altherr Molina, is also a good option for workspaces. It can be height adjusted and it allows 3 back positions.

Other ergonomic seatings which are also suitable as office equipment are DON Chair (Gemma Bernal), in its different base versions, or HAMMOK Cantilever Chair (Burkhard Vogtherr), being the latter ideal for meeting rooms.

SLAM program (Lievore Altherr Molina) is perfect for workspaces, as the combination of different frames and shells allows a wide range of possibilities while keeping a unique aesthetic, which means being able to have a different chair model for each workspace in the Company.

Ergonomic tables for offices

Whereas office tables, it is relevant that they are provided with the proprer  materials and finishing: colours neither  very light nor very dark, satin finishing to avoid reflections, so on...That's why at Sellex, when designing a table we search for the most adequate materials depending on its purpose.

Should we have to point out an ergonomic office desk for workspaces that would be LORCA (Abad Diseño). Its singular design and functionality make it a reference in offices and workspaces.

On the other side, FLY Table (Lievore Altherr Molina) combines the sobriety  and elegance demanded  by some workspaces, without leaving apart the ergonomic needs.

Another feature to bear in mind when we talk about ergonomics at work, is the open space  for the knees, this means that the worker can adopt a comfortable position while he carries out his tasks. In the same way, it is recommended that drawers are portable so they can be placed at any side of the table. Both above mentioned designs, FLY and LORCA, count on these portable accessories.

Last but not least, we have to admit  that new performance  at work is already  an evidence. The new working teams need to execute their projects while standing up and for that purpose high tables are a good alternative which give the chance to move around freely. In order to meet with this new demand, at Sellex we have created ZUBI Tables series, design Abad Diseño.

As you can see, several are the office chairs and tables that can fit into our workspace or office and satisfy our needs. We hope that with these ideas, it will be easier for you to find the most ergonomic furniture for your office.
