SMB Arquitectura chooses AERO Bench

The architect Santiago Monsoriu Biot, alma mater of SMB Arquitectura studio, designed the Crematorium Auñón of Meliana in Valencia (Spain) being true to his principles. He bet on a simple architecture, functional and human; capable of giving the maximum with the minimum number of elements and with the objective of quality design as a fundamental principle.

After ten years of existence, the Crematorium Auñón of Meliana changed its image in 2015. Being aware of the social purpose of architecture and without leaving apart its sustainable development, the team of SMB Arquitectura designed the exterior renovation of the building. Resuming one of the original ideas of the project, implemented a ventilated façade system incorporating a ceramic coating of 120x60 cm format in bronze colour.

Quality interiors that accompany in difficult moments

Coating in vertical faces based on vinyl material and pavement based on laminated wood were added on the rooms. Likewise, the furniture was renovated trusting AERO Bench designed by Lievore Altherr Molina.

17 selfstanding AERO Bench equipped the main room of the crematorium, a diaphanous and carefully illuminated room that transmits peace and invites to reflection. Thanks to its minimalism, elegance and sturdiness; AERO Bench fits perfectly in crematoriums and funeral homes among others.
