Mémora trusts once again AERO Bench for its Funeral Home in Roses

14.11.2019 | Funeral Homes

Last September Mémora Funeral Services opened  the first Funeral Home of Roses municipality in the province of Girona (Spain), for which once again has trusted AERO Bench.

Specifically, the facility has been equipped with about twenty AERO Benches of four seaters, made of aluminium, which have been distributed in the multipurpose room or arrangement room of the funeral home.

The work on the new building, which has an area of more than 1.000 m2, has been under the orders of Ricardo Fina Calatrava, whose other works in funeral architecture endorse him.

The construction is characterized by its horizontality, which is combined with the volume coming out of the multipurpose room raising 6 meters high and with a large porch on two of the building façades.

The relationship with the space is another noteworthy aspect. The building is integrated into the green environment that surrounds it, placing itself with its back to the housing, and reinforcing the intimacy and quietness that this kind of spaces requires.

The funeral home has been designed on a unique floor consisting of a reception area, 3 visitation rooms, a multipurpose room or arrangement room (with capacity for 200 people) and a thanatopraxy room. It also has an administrative area, restrooms and a storage area, as well as direct access to the municipal cemetery, which is very close to the facility.

The visitation rooms stand out for having daylight and natural air circulation through the access to a patio. Two of these rooms have similar dimensions and distribution, while the third one has a larger surface area.

Mémora and Sellex

Mémora is the first group in Spain and Portugal in funeral services, funeral homes, crematoriums and cemetery management. It performs more than 47.000 funeral services and 17.000 cremations and more than 42.000 families occupied its visitation rooms in 2018.

This is not the first time that the Mémora Funeral Services Group chooses one of the benches as funeral home seating, and one of their favourites undoubtedly is AERO Bench, which can be found in the chapels of one of their funeral homes in Spain: Reus in Tarragona, Sancho de Ávila in Barcelona, Calahorra in La Rioja or Rentería in the Basque Country.

Another Sellex design that usually equips the funeral homes of Mémora Group is VACANTE Bench, a very appropriate seating for this type of facilities because it offers the possibility of adding a prayer stool. VACANTE has equipped the chapels of Torroella de Montgri and L'Hospitalet among other funeral homes.
