BILDU Bench receives Compensar users in Suba (Colombia)

19.02.2021 | Health

The medical and sociocultural centre Compensar opened its headquarters in Suba in 2015 with the intention of providing greater coverage to the most populated town in Bogotá (Colombia). And not only that, of the almost 2 million inhabitants that Suba has, 17% affiliated with Compensar, which suggests that this installation was quite necessary.

The headquarters, which is equipped to offer health services in 30% and recreation in 70%, has fifty BILDU three-seater Benches that are distributed throughout the different waiting areas of the building.

That is precisely the market niche in which this modular seating system designed by Mario Ruiz for Sellex has been positioned, which has undoubtedly become a bench to equip waiting rooms. It allows making compositions of one, two, three and four seats, adding arms and / or tables, and the seats can be in natural, stained or upholstered wood. In the case of Compensar, the chosen finish has been the upholstered one.

Health, recreation and sports

The headquarters covers an area of ”‹”‹15,000 square meters and has seven floors offering health, recreation and sports services. By one hand, it has about 80 medical cabinets to meet the demand of patients in all branches of health. But it also has another kind of services: a bowling of 22 lanes with last technology, a gym and rooms for aerobic, dance and other kind of sports.

However, what really stands out is its aquatic complex with an Olympic-size pool for free practice courses, a recreational pool and a children's pool.

The project is the work of the Tab Arquitectos team formed by Daniel Bonilla and Marcela Albornoz. The architects of the building themselves point out the importance of water in the planning of the project as it is visible from the outside.

'The new square that the project generates builds a particular poetics of the place. As the cover of the pools establishes a subtle relationship between the square and the volumes of water located just below it. ', explains Bonilla.

The architectural mass is made up of three pieces: a first volume that is buried under the access level to accommodate swimming pools and parking places, a second volume of access and concessions, which is transparent, and finally a higher prism with the wellness areas, health and administration, which is evidenced by the dilated base plane, and it looks like a simple volume that complements the square.
