Gorraiz Castle, a 16th-century jewel converted into a hotel

01.03.2023 | Hospitality

The Hotel Castillo de Gorraiz, located in the Egües Valley, a few kilometres from the centre of Pamplona (Spain), has placed its trust in the FAST Table designed by Carlos Tíscar for Sellex to equip its meeting rooms.

The hotel hosts all kinds of events, from presentations to congresses, for which it has a space of 352 m2 distributed in 4 rooms. Its configuration is fully adaptable, so that depending on the number of attendees and the purpose of the meeting, it is possible to create Theatre, School, Conference and even U or double U type arrangements.

This flexibility in the space is reflected in the furniture that equips it. And this is where the FAST Table comes into its own, providing all its versatility and functionality. The versatility is achieved through its folding frame, which can be joined to tops of different formats or sizes. Hence, it is possible to generate, among others, the aforementioned configurations with a minimum of stock. In terms of functionality, this is achieved thanks to the quick and easy assembly without the need for tools.

A hotel that combines tradition and modernity

The extension and renovation of the hotel facilities in 2019 was a collaboration between AA Arquitectos Asociados and Roberto Atencia Arruti, where the first provided the architecture and the second the interior design.

From the construction point of view, the extension was planned underground, with the land emptied, placing a new building against the land and covering it with a plant-type terrace, so that only one façade was left in view, facing the golf course.

For its part, the interior design faced the challenge of integrating the Castle of Gorraiz itself, a 16th century architectural jewel, with the more modern facilities such as the Spa, the terrace and the new building in general. The aim was to merge different periods under the umbrella of a 4-star hotel to offer a unique stay. At Sellex we corroborate that the purpose has been more than achieved.
