The TOOL Table is the new folding and stackable table that Carlos Tíscar has designed for Sellex.
It is a multifunctional table that could be said to be 4 pieces in 1 since it can be used as a folding table and as a meeting table, but also as a lectern or drawing table and as a whiteboard.
Quite a challenge for a table that is much more than a simple piece of furniture. TOOL is an intelligent and functional response to spaces that require adaptability and efficiency. Its minimalist and practical design makes this table a true work tool, ideal for collaborative and professional environments as well as for libraries or cultural centres.
According to its creator, one of the aspects he wanted to achieve was for the table to be “as discreet as possible” from a formal point of view, but without giving up a “defined and original personality”. This is what means that the table can be placed in very different environments, whether with just one or in compositions of many tables.
Stackable table
One of the advantages of the TOOL Table is that, in addition to being foldable, it can be stacked to allow maximum optimisation of space. Furthermore, when stacked the distance between the tables is only 13 cm placing the TOOL Table among the most efficient in the sector. That is why TOOL is highly recommended in multipurpose installations where efficient space management is necessary.
From Table to Lectern and Whiteboard
The TOOL Table can be used as an individual table and as a meeting table. Thanks to its extendable function, the TOOL Table goes from being a table for one or two people to one for six or eight.
But the most surprising thing about the TOOL Table is its ability to transform into a lectern or drawing table and a whiteboard. How is this possible? For Tíscar it is something that makes a lot of sense. “The different functions are complementary and related,” he tells us. “For example, the mechanism for the lectern function – a function that I always thought was logical on a table that already has a top that rotates – is a necessary step to keep the top vertical in the whiteboard option,” adds the TOOL designer.
And this is how a table becomes a lectern, thanks to the adjustable tilt in various positions. A very comfortable option as it allows the angle of inclination of the top to be adjusted, whether for working, drawing or as a display element.
For its part, when the table is fold out vertically, TOOL becomes a very useful whiteboard in offices and coworking spaces, as well as in multipurpose spaces where seminars or conferences are held.
Up to 7 different combinations
All the functionalities of this “4 in 1” table are combined in up to 7 modalities of the TOOL Table, in some cases, available in two heights, 75 cm and 105 cm. These are the combinations:
• Folding Table (75 cm and 105 cm)
• Folding Table + Lectern (75 cm and 105 cm)
• Folding Table + Meeting Table (75 cm)
• Folding Table + Whiteboard (75 cm and 105 cm)
• Folding Table + Lectern + Meeting Table (75 cm)
• Folding Table + Lectern + Whiteboard (75 cm and 105 cm)
• Folding Table + Lectern + Whiteboard + Meeting Table (75 cm)
As far as materials are concerned, the TOOL Table has a steel frame on aluminium legs and the tops have different finishes: White, Grey, Black or Oak Melamine.
All this to be able to choose the TOOL Table that best suits each space.
