A simple and quiet design for the Diagnostic Centre in Lebanon

15.06.2021 | Health

The SLAM Seating Beam is once again the seat of choice for a hospital or doctor's office. This time it is the Lebanon Medical Diagnostic Center, located in Tyre in the south of the country, which has equipped its waiting rooms with this design by Lievore Altherr Molina.

The Lebanon Medical Diagnostic Center (LDC) can boast of having the latest medical equipment and devices within the highest international quality standards. It also has a specialised medical imaging department, a laboratory analysis department and a PCR department.

Their priority in the services they offer is to ensure patient safety and comfort, always working to continuously improve performance and achieve the best possible care for patients.

The interior designer for the project, Farah Abou Yehya, says that this philosophy has been kept in mind at all times and reflected in the facility through a 'simple and calm design'.

From an architectural point of view, the glazed façade is particularly noteworthy, giving access to the intense light of the Mediterranean. This material is also used in the interiors to delimit the different areas, but without renouncing to create an open and diaphanous space. The colours used in the interior are light and neutral, with blue as the connecting thread between the rooms.

To accompany these neutral tones, the colour chosen for the 2-, 3- and 4-seater SLAM Seating Beam was white, a choice that we consider to be very appropriate. For Farah Abou Yehyala, the SLAM Bench 'adapts smoothly to the interior atmosphere' of the centre due to its 'simple and elegant design'. She also highlights how comfortable it is as a seat and how well it fits into waiting areas without taking up too much space in them.

From hospital to hospital

The Medical Diagnostic Centre of Lebanon is not the first health facility to equip its waiting areas with the SLAM Bench. Nor will it be the last, as the SLAM Seating Beam has all the qualities required for a hospital or doctor's office seat: it is ergonomic, easy to maintain and brings personality and warmth to the space.

Chairs, armchairs, benches... any of these seats can have their place in a hospital, but benches are the perfect seats for fitting out large waiting rooms or those waiting areas located in corridors.

The Spanish chain of Atenea Clinics, the University Hospital of Tivoli in Belgium, or some health centres such as Zabalgana and Salburua in Vitoria, have the SLAM Bench in their waiting areas.

Now the Lebanese centre has joined the list of medical centres with a SLAM design in their facilities and from Sellex we can only thank them for their confidence.
