Slottsskogen Hostel, an all-terrain hotel facility

05.07.2023 | Hospitality

When brothers Christian and Fredrik Dahl spent more than a year looking for a property to open a hostel in Gothenburg (Sweden), they never imagined they would find it so close to their family home. More precisely, in the building next door.

More than 25 years have passed since its opening and what started as a hostel with 96 beds, now has 300 beds in 4 different buildings. During this time Slottsskogen Hostel has not only increased in capacity, but has also gained in prestige. Proof of this is that it is considered one of the best hostels in Sweden, having been awarded hostel of the year by the Swedish Tourist Board (STF).

Christian and Fredrik have always kept the concept of sustainable development in mind and therefore Slottsskogen Hostel has implemented the environmental management system of the Keep Sweden Tidy Foundation, obtaining the 'Green Key' certification. Among other measures, it uses eco-labelled electricity (wind energy from Telge Energi), uses environmentally friendly detergents and cleaning fluids, offers an eco-marked breakfast buffet and is a certified bicycle workplace.

But if there is one thing that characterizes Slottsskogen Hostel, it is being an all-terrain facility that includes a hotel, apartments, hostel, and backpacker hostel. How could it be otherwise, this versatile infrastructure requires functional furniture. This is how the LA LITERAL Folding Bunk Bed, designed by Lievore Altherr Molina for Sellex, comes into play and equips the double, triple and quadruple rooms of the facility. In short, a program of comfortable beds that guarantees space optimization and adapts to the demanding needs of the hospitality sector.
