Mol, a bar at the end of the Camino de Santiago (the way of St. James)
10.02.2022 | Hospitality
Mol is a small bar in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) that is located right at the end of the Jacobean Route, where the pilgrims enter on their final stage. And that is what gives meaning to the design of the premises. According to Xavi Casas Nova, responsible for interior design, the entire project stems from that idea.
The space already had large windows that they wanted to take advantage of to establish a visual communication between the exterior and the interior, so that both pilgrims and neighbours could 'interact in harmony and create new links,' explains the XaviCN interior architect.
To achieve this, the Galician decorator proposed high-rise furniture, so that customers, when seated, would be at the same level as people on the street.
For this reason, Xavi chose the SET Sled Stool, designed by Mario Ruiz for Sellex, as a seat for the tables and perimeter counters of the bar. “Its comfort and the slenderness of its legs and seat do not hinder the interior-exterior visual communication and allow more light to enter”, explains the designer.
As a result, more than a dozen SET Stools, in black polypropylene with upholstered Pad, shine in this place in A Coruña for the rest and enjoyment of pilgrims and non-pilgrims.
High stools in the hospitality industry
High stools are in fashion, or rather they were, because the trend of sitting on a high stool, not only for a drink but for lunch or dinner, is here to stay. Now it is quite normal to find restaurants that offer their customers the chance to sit up high to eat.
At Sellex we have a wide range of stools and stackable stools for bars, cafes and restaurants. Different heights and structures, different colours and upholstery... all the possible options to adapt to the specific space. Because each bar has its own identity and each bar requires different furniture.
