There is a lot of history behind the name Anneberghus. This estate in Nykobing (Denmark) has passed from hand to hand, with different owners. It started as a farm in the 17th century and later became a manor house. In the 19th century it had different uses: it was a manor house, an orphanage... to reach the year 2000 as a hostel and a nature school.
All this history is what has made Anneberghus today a mixture of all that it has been, showing “a magical atmosphere in which you can breathe history as soon as you walk through the door”, explains Piamalia Vagtholm, general manager of Anneberghus.
This history can be seen in the colour scheme, typical of old royalty (red, green and blue), as well as in the décor, a mix of recycled and new, which has respected the essence of the old manor house. “It was important to me that the house should feel homely and cosy with a wonderful stately touch”, Piamalia says.
And of course, with nature at the heart of the whole project: “We opened up to the lake, the moat, the Anneberg forest and the views of the fjord”, says the director of Anneberghus.
A place for events and experiences
Today, Anneberghus is much more than just an accommodation in the middle of nature, because the surroundings allow hosting all kinds of events and experiences.
Over the years, many couples have chosen Anneberghus as a romantic setting for their wedding, which can be held under the giant plane tree in the park or on the beautiful beach, which is also part of Anneberghus.
The spacious banquet hall is suitable for weddings or any other type of event, whether it is an anniversary or a professional gathering.
And that's not all. Nature activities are also programmed. An experience in the surrounding fjord and forest area that can complement business meetings and team building.
LA LITERAL at Anneberghus
The rooms at Anneberghus have been equipped with our LA LITERAL Folding Beds and Bunk Beds programme, designed by Lievore Altherr Molina.
About 20 white bunk beds of different dimensions (200x90 and 190x90) have been distributed throughout the hotel rooms in order to make the best use of space. For the director of Anneberghus, it was very important for the beds “not to fill the room or make it look small”. That is why she chose this ingenious system of folding bunk beds that offers the comfort of a real bed during the night while leaving all the space in the room available during the day. Piamalia also highlights “its simple design and appearance”, as well as the ease of positioning the bunk beds, reasons that made them decide in favour of the LA LITERAL programme. We are very happy to see that the chosen product has met their expectations.
